Coon Lake Inlet
(Ditch 56)

Monitoring Location at Highway 22, East Bethel
STORET SiteID = Ditch56_Hwy22
Monitored By ACD Staff
Notes: Ditch 56 is a small inlet to Coon Lake , which is mostly less than one foot deep and four feet wide. During dry periods, including much of the summer, water flow is barely observable. The watershed for this ditch includes broad wetland expanses adjacent to the ditch in many areas, rural residential, and some upland forest. The wetlands upstream of the monitoring site effectively dampen water level fluctuations. The equipment used to monitor this site in 2005 had chronic failures. Given the need to replace the equipment and only sporadic use of this data, it is recommended that this monitoring site be abandoned. Funds would be better allocated to higher-priority monitoring sites or to water quality improvement projects.

Summary of All Monitored Years

"All Years" is not an average of each year's summary statistic. Rather, it is calculated from the continuous, multi-year record.

*only about 7 weeks of data collected in 2005, in April, May, and June.
