Lakeshore Mapping and Erosion Education

The SRWMO and the Anoka Conservation District mapped the shoreline of five area lakes in 2003. The mapping documented the type of shoreline (retaining wall, rip rap, grass to the edge, etc) and the extent of shoreline erosion. Then, in 2004 informational packets were sent to those households with shoreline erosion. These packets helped inform about lake-friendly erosion solutions and offered cost share.
