Coon Lake Erasian Water Milfoil

The SRWMO is playing an advisory role in identification and control of Eurasian water milfoil in Coon Lake. This invasive, exotic plant was discovered in the lake in 2003. In addition to being the area's biggest and most used recreational lake, Coon Lake lies partially in the Cities of East Bethel and Ham Lake, and Columbus Township. Because the lake crosses political boundaries, the SRWMO can help coordinate efforts. Currently the City of East Bethel and the Coon Lake Improvement Association are leading this project.
