Wildlife Corridors
Site Restoration
The Anoka Conservation District is actively working with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and members of the Metro Wildlife Corridors Group to restore properties located within the identified wildlife corridors. In conjunction with our land protection efforts we plan to maintain uninterrupted habitat corridors connecting large protected wildlife hubs. This will be done with a mixture of reforestation, wetland and stream buffers, prairie plantings and degraded habitat revitalization projects. If you are interested in participating in this important endeavor please find your property on the mapping tool and see if you are in a corridor. ACD actively seeks cost-share funding to pay for a portion of restoration costs.
