Brush Mattress

Brush is arranged vertically along slope, from splash zone to bottom of terrace, at a thickness of at least 6". 2-3' Wedge stakes are driven into slope with wire tied around the stakes to compress brush down and hold brush in place. The mattress should be covered with a thin layer of soil to encourage root development from buds along the stems.
