Bio-Logs

Bio-logs are used along the Toe Zone. They are staked along or near the toe of the slope and protect from flow velocities on streams, protect from wave action on lakeshores and can be used as a wave break in the near-shore area. Bio-logs are made of compressed coconut fiber wrapped in rope webbing. The coconut fiber material can support plant growth if placed in an area of nearly constant saturation. Aquatic plant plugs can be placed directly into the log.
