Selling Land to Conservation Organizations

There are many parcels of land within Anoka County that would be eligible for land purchasing by conservation organizations. These properties often have high quality natural resources and or are near or adjacent to existing protected lands. There are many ways to go about selling your land for conservation purposes. All programs discussed here are VOLUNTARY programs. Please contact Josh Williams if you are interested in selling your land for conservation purposes.

There are many ways to go about selling your land to a conservation organization. You can grant rights of first refusal to an organization. This gives a conservation organization the opportunity purchase the property for a given price within a specified period of time without competing bids by other potential buyers.

A bargain sale is the sale of property at less than fair market value. This benefits the buyer and seller. The seller receives a tax deduction by donating a portion of the property value to the conservation organization.
